First Halloween Purchase of the Year

The internet may be awash in Halloween merchandise, but not a lot is on store shelves just yet. While the big empty “holiday” aisle in Home Depot makes me think the orange lights and animatronic inflatable yard dragons will be making their appearance very soon, my nearest Target in undergoing a complete store remodel, so it’s hard to tell if seasonal is being cleared for an update or to be moved to a different section of the store.

All was not lost on my shopping excursion, however! A trip to Home Goods turned up a small but worthy selection for the dark décor enthusiast. Three items made it into our shopping basket: a black, orange, and silver striped Nicole Miller round table cloth ($9.99), four matching cloth napkins ($5.99), and four recycled glass skull jar glasses ($7.99).

When we returned home, Joe discovered that the glasses have the same sized opening as our Weck jars with 3 1/8″ openings. The one issue is that the lip on the jars is a bit narrow and I had to turn the clips upside down to get the lid to stay on.
